Conservatory Concert: A Triumph for Youth

2008-04-27

Students and faculty of the CGCC Community Arts Program Conservatory for the Arts after-school classroom and active-learning ensemble components performed their 4 p.m., Sunday April 27, end-of-the-year concert at Deering Estate at Cutler, upon Deering Estate’s invitation. Located along the edge of Biscayne Bay, the 444-acre Deering Estate at Cutler is an environmental, archeological and historical preserve.

What a great experience to perform on the grounds of another beautiful historic site and meet many enthusiastic members of the community. A diversity of music was included: compositions by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach, Joplin, Vicente Emilio Sojo, and the winning composition from the CGCC Community Arts Program Young Musicians’ International Composition Competition: “Raggaeton” by Australian composer Gordon Hamilton.

CGCC is on the move and out in the community with extravagant welcome and offerings of creativity and healthy options for youth and families. Join us. It will always be good to see you!
